About Detective Sergeant Donald Stewart

Detective Sergeant Donald Stewart is the author of Refuge: A Pathway Out of Domestic Violence and Abuse. He joined the Brown County Sheriff’s Department as a uniform patrol officer in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 1978. His night shift thrust him onto the front lines of domestic violence. He served on those front lines for 25 years.

As a retired Christian police officer, Don is able to effectively communicate God’s love, mercy, and grace by using powerful inspiring real-life stories drawn from his experience in law enforcement that spanned more than two decades. Don’s insights as a Christian police officer have given him a unique and interesting perspective into the human condition. He challenges listeners to move beyond physical and emotional wounds, discouragement, and fear to understand more clearly God’s willingness and ability to help people work through the storms of life.
