Running Away (A Guest Blog)

Like a child wanders from her mother in the store to look at what catches her fancy, so am I when I glance at the trappings of this world…and I’m gone in a flash.  Just like that child on a path leading to destruction…  It looks like a vast beach, and soon I realize the quicksand has engulfed me and I cannot breathe and I cry out!  “Mother!  Where are you!! I need you! Please keep me safe and near.”  Mother replies, “I did not leave you but you saw and you wandered off without me.  I watched you, and you explored, and I waited patiently for you to come back.  I knew that you would return.  You are mine and I am yours.”

Romans 8:28 “…and we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”

(Chaplain’s note:  How wonderful is God to always watch over us, to always stay near us, to patiently wait for us to return and to welcome us back with open arms.  He is so full of grace and mercy when we wander. Thank you to our guest blogger, Joanne.  God bless and keep you today in the name of Jesus.)
