In Grief, God is Our Relief

As we continue to explore Grief or Relief today, please know that whatever your particular loss, God is near. He is the One who has the name of Comforter and Helper.  His promise in His Word is to be near the broken-hearted and those who are crushed in their spirits.  In fact, Jesus our Savior is identified in Isaiah 53 as a man of sorrows, acquainted with the most bitter grief.

He understands your pain.

We grieve the physical death of loved ones, and the loss of those who we were married to who weren’t kind and loving to us.  We grieve living under such oppression that we don’t know how we will get through the day.  We grieve the death of dreams, plans and happily ever after.  We grieve divorce and separation and wonder will we ever be happy again.

God grieves with you.  Jesus wept at the death of His dear friend Lazarus, even though He knew that he would soon be raised back to life.  God sees YOUR grief.  He holds you close in His everlasting arms when you cry.  The Bible tells us that He keeps our tears in a bottle.

The Bible also talks about a Day when there will be no more tears, no more pain…

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.  There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”  (Revelation 21:4)

In our grief, God is near.  He sees our pain, understands it, and walks with us every day.

FOCUS Ministries is here to listen and give you the Hope of Christ who is near when we feel lost, forsaken, lonely or afraid.

Are you grieving today?  Do you need someone to talk to about your loss and feelings about grief?  What is the worst thing about grief?
