October is here again! That means that once again we solemnly acknowledge that Domestic Violence and Abuse is real. We affirm that abuse is a sin. We remember that 1 out of 3 women sitting in the pews on Sunday morning have known domestic abuse in some form or other. We grieve for the loss of life, the tragic trauma that many suffer and we look with great hope to the One who heals, delivers and hates abuse.
It is a real blessing from the Lord that we’ve been invited to three separate churches in our area this month to speak about domestic abuse and violence. We will have exhibit tables with our resource materials and be available to answer questions about how to recognize abuse and how to safely help a woman who is experiencing the pain of a destructive relationship.
But WAIT! There’s more!
We will also be hosting our semi-annual Partners in the Journey training at our home office. Once again we will gather to educate church leaders, social workers and lay people, friends and family about the different ways that domestic abuse affects families and marriages. These are DV epidemic days! But there is grace and hope in Christ Jesus our Savior and God. Be sure to check out the registration page of our website for more information and to sign up today.
We appreciate your prayers for protection and discernment and much fellowship for these upcoming events! Come by and say “hello” if you’re in the area!
