“Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?” Can you hear that song in your head? Of course, it’s from an old Disney cartoon — the three little pigs are arrogantly singing about how brave they are until the Big Bad Wolf actually shows up at their door. Yikes! Do you have a big bad wolf…
“Hurry, hurry, hurry,” Little Wife whispered to herself. With just two days left before Christmas, Little Wife was in a terrible bind. She wanted to buy the perfect gift for Big Man, but the stores were all out of the popular tech gifts, the 3X buffalo plaid flannels, his favorite vinyls and vintage whiskey. Little…
It has taken me a lifetime to finally be broken and humbled to the fact that I am not the author of my life story. I am not the one who controls all life circumstances. In my shame and insecurity I had used the defense “I can just handle things my way, especially with…

The basement of Big Man’s farmhouse was very dark and very damp. Spiders, centipedes and creepy crawlers ruled in this part of the grim home, but even still, Little Wife felt safer here than in any other part of the house. Curled up down here on the cold cement slab, she could hear and not…
